Job Title: Network Engineer

Location: Tashkent, Uzbekistan

Working Hours: UK Hours (7 AM to 7 PM)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join our team in Tashkent. This role involves ensuring the seamless operation and security of our network infrastructure across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and improving the network setup, implementing redundancies, and ensuring robust security measures.

The engineer can take appropriate breaks throughout the day but must remain available when needed.

Key Responsibilities

1. Network Design and Implementation

• Design and establish secure and efficient network connections.

• Set up redundant links to ensure high availability between sites.

2. Network Maintenance and Management

• Manage and maintain the existing network infrastructure.

• Conduct network troubleshooting and resolve connectivity issues promptly.

3. VPN and Security Setup

• Configure and maintain IPSec site-to-site VPNs.

• Liaise with external parties to coordinate and set up VPN links.

• Implement and manage road-warrior VPN setups for remote users.

4. Firewall and Network Security

• Patch firewalls and network devices regularly to ensure they are up to date.

• Monitor network access and maintain a secure environment.

• Set up and maintain intrusion prevention systems (IPS) and intrusion detection systems (IDS).

5. Monitoring and Reporting

• Continuously monitor network performance and take preemptive measures to address potential issues.

• Document network configurations, changes, and incidents.

6. Out-of-Hours Work

• Be available for scheduled out-of-hours work to implement critical network changes or updates.

Skills and Qualifications

• Networking Expertise:

• Proficient in setting up and managing IPSec site-to-site VPNs.

• Familiarity with networking equipment such as Mikrotik, IPFire, Fortinet, and similar devices.

• Network Troubleshooting and Design:

• Strong understanding of network architecture and troubleshooting methods.

• Experience in designing redundant network setups.

• Security Knowledge:

• Experience in implementing and managing firewalls, IPS, IDS, and VPNs.

• Knowledge of best practices for maintaining network security.

• Additional Skills:

• Ability to monitor network traffic and performance effectively.

• Willingness to participate in and contribute to penetration tests.
