Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic IB PYP Homeroom Teacher to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching young learners, skilled in inquiry-based learning, and have a deep understanding of the IB PYP framework. As a Homeroom Teacher, you will be responsible for guiding students in their social, emotional, and academic development while fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons based on the IB PYP framework.
Implement inquiry-based learning strategies that encourage students to explore and understand concepts.
Develop transdisciplinary units of inquiry in collaboration with other PYP teachers.
Create a supportive and respectful classroom environment that promotes student agency and wellbeing.
Assess and document student progress according to the PYP criteria, and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the school community to enhance the educational experience for students.
Participate in school events, professional development sessions, and other activities that contribute to the school community.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Teaching certification or licensure relevant to primary education.
Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in a primary school setting, preferably in an IB PYP environment.
Strong understanding of the IB PYP philosophy and curriculum.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment that supports the diverse needs of students.
