Responsibilities:
- Translating written materials, documents, and correspondence in English, Uzbek and Russian languages.
- Providing real-time verbal interpretation (consecutive and simultaneous interpretation) during the Embassy' s official functions, meetings, conferences, workshops and events.
- Facilitating clear communication between parties speaking in English, Uzbek and Russian languages.
- Proofreading and editing translations to ensure accuracy and cultural relevance.
- Maintaining accurate records of interpreted meetings and translated materials.
- Supporting additional tasks related to language services as required.
- Drafting and reviewing bilingual correspondence and documents.
- Preparing reports and translating on issues/topics as instructed.
- Prepare daily summary of local news.
- Liaising with the President Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and any other agencies in Uzbekistan for Embassy' s matters.
- Assisting local staff and covering their duties when they are on leave, as instructed.
- Performing protocol duties including airport duties for visitors from Malaysia.
- Have good contact with media(s) in Uzbekistan
- Additional responsibilities: Undertake any other tasks as instructed.
- Higher Education (in the field of Foreign Language Studies / International Relations is an advantage).
- High proficiency in English, Uzbek and Russian communication and interpretation skills (spoken and written). Knowledge of other languages (e.g. Bahasa Malaysia) is an advantage.
- Previous experience in translation/interpretation is preferred.
- Good communication skills and experience in public relations or communications (preferred).
- Ability to provide effective communication skills in approaching counterparts for Embassy' s engagements.
- Ability to provide administrative support to co-workers.
- Good command on IT skills (Word, Power Point & Excel)
- Self-motivated, ability to multitask, reliable, punctual and a team player.
- Physically and mentally fit and ready to work.
- Adhering to confidentiality and ethical standards.
