An inclusive and welcoming primary school in Hayes is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Assistant to work one-to-one with a child who has special educational needs (SEN). This is a full-time, term-time position, ideal for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in a child’s education and daily school life.About the Role: You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support the learning, engagement, and personal development of a pupil with additional needs. The role involves:
Providing one-to-one support tailored to the child’s learning plan
Helping with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
Supporting the child’s participation in classroom and school activities
Assisting with any personal care requirements, if necessary
Recording progress and liaising with teachers and specialists
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
Has experience working with children, ideally with SEN (training can be provided)
Is patient, empathetic, and committed to inclusion
Communicates well with both children and adults
Works well as part of a team and independently
Is proactive and flexible in responding to a child’s needs
Holds (or is willing to complete) an enhanced DBS check
Desirable but not essential:
Relevant qualifications in childcare, education, or SEN
Experience with autism, ADHD, or other additional needs
