As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting the teaching and learning process, working closely with class teachers to provide high-quality education for all pupils, especially those with additional needs.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to further their career in education, and to make a significant impact on the learning experiences of children in a supportive and inclusive school environment.Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support teaching and learning within the classroom under the direction of the class teacher
Deliver planned interventions to small groups and individuals, focusing on raising attainment and meeting the needs of diverse learners
Take responsibility for planning, preparing, and evaluating learning activities for small groups
Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and those who require additional support, ensuring that they can access the curriculum effectively
Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher
Assist in the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum, including literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects
Supervise and support children during playtimes, lunch breaks, and other school activities
Actively contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Essential Criteria:
HLTA qualification (or equivalent)
Experience working in a primary school setting, with a good understanding of the National Curriculum
Strong knowledge and understanding of SEN, including strategies to support children with additional learning needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
A proactive, flexible, and hardworking attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
Desirable Criteria:
Experience in delivering interventions to support specific areas of the curriculum
A First Aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training)
A commitment to continued professional development and growing your skills in education
