Location: Farnborough School Type: Primary School (Ages 5-11) Special Educational Needs: Autism & Learning Difficulties Position: Full-Time, 1:1 Teaching Assistant Pay Rate: £13.86 per hourWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 teaching assistant to join a supportive and inclusive Special educational needs (SEN) primary school community in Farnborough. The school caters to a diverse range of special educational needs and a primary diagnosis of autism and other learning difficulties. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting a child with special educational needs, helping them to thrive and achieve their full potential in a nurturing and enriching environment. Experience of working with children and young people with special needs would be advantageous but not essential! Provide 1:1 support to a child with special educational needs.Assist the child in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities.Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.Support with personal care and communication needs where appropriate.Work closely with the class teacher and other staff members to monitor progress and adapt strategies.Help develop and implement individualised learning plans for the child.Support the child’s social and emotional development, encouraging positive behaviour.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Has experience working with children, ideally with special educational needs (SEN) or adults with additional needs. (Not essential)Holds a passion for helping children reach their potential, regardless of their challenges.Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a calm, nurturing approach.Is able to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.Holds a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.Experience with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other learning difficulties is highly desirable but not essential.
