About Our Client: Our client is a women-led, not-for-profit nationwide group of independent special schools, offering a holistic approach to education with a focus on emotional and social development. The Silverstone school caters to up to 40 pupils aged 11-16, many of whom face social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, with some having additional specific learning challenges. Many of their pupils have experienced disrupted education, including low attendance or exclusion from mainstream schools.They are dedicated to supporting our pupils in fulfilling their potential by providing unconditional support, high-quality teaching, and empowering them to manage their own behaviour effectively. Their staff team works together to build and maintain positive, professional relationships with all pupils, treating them with respect and tolerance.Their curriculum is underpinned by Protective Behaviours and THRIVE® principles, promoting social and emotional development. They offer a wide range of subjects and experiences to ensure that students are motivated and equipped for success. Their extensive premises provide excellent facilities for academic, creative, vocational, and outdoor learning opportunities, including a large self-contained play area, workshops, well-resourced classrooms, a fully fitted canteen, and multiple outdoor learning areas, along with a large arts offering.Due to an increase in pupil numbers, They are looking for a committed Science Teacher to join their team.The Role:
Plan and deliver engaging and high-quality Science lessons to students, fostering progress and enthusiasm for learningTailor your teaching to meet the individual needs of students, ensuring lessons support long-term retention of key scientific conceptsSet clear, measurable targets for students' progress, considering prior attainment and specific needsImplement strategies to meet the special educational needs of students, while also supporting their emotional and social developmentOccasionally engage with students on offsite interventions, requiring the ability to drive and access to your own carYou may be required to transport pupils in your own vehicle due to the rural location of the school
About You:
Qualified teacher preferred, though candidates with other recognised teaching qualifications and experience will be consideredPrevious experience teaching Science, preferably to secondary pupils, and experience in an SEN setting would be an advantagePassionate about supporting pupils with SEN, emotional, and behavioural challengesSkilled in delivering lessons that are both informative and engagingA strong commitment to positive behaviour management and the emotional wellbeing of studentsAbility to adapt and work flexibly in a dynamic environment
