Autism Specialist Teaching AssistantLocation: Scarborough, North YorkshireStart Date: ASAP Salary: £83 - £100 per dayGSL Education are actively recruiting experienced Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to work at a Special Educational Needs School in Scarborough, North Yorkshire starting as soon as possible.Autism Specialist Teaching Assistants Requirements: Have recent experience supporting children with Autism.Have knowledge of associated needs and behaviours linked to Autism.Be trained in de-escalation, Team Teach, MAPA or NAPPI (this is not essential, but desirable).Have a calm, nurturing and patient persona. Be a flexible education practitioner, who can adapt quickly to situations. Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to have one processed via GSL Education. Autism Specialist Teaching Assistants Responsibilities: Assist the classroom teacher in planning and implementing lessons that accommodate the diverse needs of students with autism.Work closely with students with autism.Help students develop their communication and social skills.Collaborate with the teacher and other professionals to develop and implement behavior management plans.Collect data on student progress and behaviours.Foster positive relationships with students with autism. As an Autism Specialist Teaching Assistants, it is vital to understand autism and the behaviours it can present. You should have a natural enthusiasm and positive outlook to engage and support young people.
