We are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our team at [Insert School Name], ensuring high-quality learning continues in the absence of the regular class teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong classroom management skills, a keen interest in student development, and the ability to inspire young minds.In this role, you will supervise and facilitate engaging lessons prepared by teachers, manage classroom behaviour, and create a positive, supportive learning environment for students. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring lessons run smoothly and productively. Engage and support students in their learning by answering questions, clarifying tasks, and encouraging participation. Register attendance and uphold classroom expectations in line with school policy. Manage behaviour effectively, maintaining a calm, respectful, and focused environment for all learners. Deliver pre-planned lessons and provide constructive feedback to the absent teacher. Support school activities such as trips, workshops, and extracurricular events, contributing to the wider school community. Assist with organisational tasks when not supervising lessons, such as reception cover, display preparation, or exam support. Safeguarding first: Adhere to all safeguarding and child protection policies to ensure student welfare is prioritised at all times. What We Are Looking For A motivated and conscientious individual with a passion for working with young people. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and staff. Strong classroom management abilities and the confidence to lead a class. A flexible, adaptable approach to support learning in a variety of subjects.
