We are currently seeking motivated and compassionate Catering Assistants to join our team, providing support in catering services for care homes, schools, contract catering sites in the Ipswich area. The successful candidates will play a vital role in assisting with food preparation, service, and ensuring the nutritional needs of residents, guests and students are met. In this role you will be working within Schools, Care homes, Contract Catering & Events. Driving license and access to your own vehicle will be preferable.Responsibilities: Assist with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing sandwiches, and portioning food itemsSet up serving areas and ensure they are well-stocked with required itemsServe meals to residents or students in a timely and courteous mannerClean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensilsFollow food safety and hygiene protocols at all timesAssist with inventory management and stock rotationProvide friendly and helpful service to residents, guests, students, and staffWork collaboratively with the catering team to ensure smooth operations Requirements: Previous experience in catering, food service, or a similar role is preferred but not requiredBasic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practicesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work well in a team environment and follow instructionsWillingness to learn and take on new tasks as neededAvailability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidaysEnhanced DBS (essential) Benefits: Competitive weekly salaryPositive and supportive work environmentFlexible working hours Dedicated consultants If you are passionate about providing nutritious meals and excellent service to others, we want to hear from you!Get in touch with Helen at Select Recruitment for more information, or apply now!
