Job DescriptionAs a Class 1 LGV Driver for our Transport Department, you'll be responsible for:Making bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers nationwide, ensuring timely and efficient transportation of goods.Operating and maintaining a modern fleet of vehicles, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.Performing trailer swaps or live unloading and reloading of your trailer, depending on individual customer requirements.Conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.Accurately completing all necessary paperwork, including delivery notes, vehicle logs, and any incident reports.Maintaining excellent communication with dispatch, customers, and colleagues to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that may arise.Adhering to all road traffic laws and regulations, including proper use of tachographs and observance of driving hours regulations.Representing DPD in a professional manner at all times, fostering positive relationships with customers and the public.Participating in regular safety briefings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and company procedures.Assisting with loading and unloading of goods when required, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.Reporting any vehicle defects, accidents, or near-misses promptly and accurately to the appropriate personnel.Maintaining a clean and tidy vehicle, both internally and externally, to uphold the company's professional image.
