The school is committed to providing the highest quality of learning and teaching opportunities for students, as well as excellent continuous professional development programmes for all staff.About the Role: They are seeking a dedicated and proactive Design & Technology (DT) / Textiles Technician to support our Art, Food, Design, and Technology Department. The successful candidate will provide technical and practical assistance, ensuring that equipment and materials are prepared and maintained to facilitate effective teaching and learning.Key Responsibilities: Prepare and set up materials and equipment for DT and Textiles lessons, ensuring all resources are ready for use.Maintain and service machinery and equipment, including regular checks to ensure safety and functionality.Assist teaching staff during practical lessons, providing technical support to students as required.Manage stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of materials.Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments as necessary.Support the creation and maintenance of classroom displays and exhibitions.Collaborate with the department to develop innovative teaching resources. Person Specification: Relevant qualifications in Design & Technology and/or Textiles (e.g., BTEC, A-level, or equivalent).Knowledge of workshop tools, machinery, and CAD software packages.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.Commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.Previous experience in a similar technician role is desirable but not essential; training can be provided.
