This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive school environment where your contributions will directly impact the students' learning journey and personal growth.About the role: As a SEND Teaching Assistant (SEMH), you will support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, helping them navigate challenges and achieve their potential. You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored guidance, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.Responsibilities of the SEND Teaching Assistant (SEMH): Provide one-to-one or group support for students with SEMH needs, ensuring they feel safe and supported.Assist the class teacher in implementing individualised learning plans.Encourage and promote positive behaviours, supporting students to manage emotions and build resilience.Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support each student’s progress.Monitor and record students' progress and provide feedback to parents/carers and staff. Requirements of the SEND Teaching Assistant (SEMH): Experience working with students with SEND or SEMH in an educational setting.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff.Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.Good communication and interpersonal skills to work well with students, staff, and parents/guardians.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, helping to create a positive school community. Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
