About the role
The Council is seeking to recruit to the role of Deputyship Officer (2 posts) to support the Council in managing the financial affairs of vulnerable adults. These roles will sit within the Customer Finance service in Adult Social Care. The purpose of this role is to provide specialist professional advice and support in respect of deputyship, appointeeship, lasting power of attorney and enduring power of attorney. The post holder will be expected to perform Deputyship functions on behalf of individuals for whom the Council has been appointed Deputy by the Court of Protection. Including (but not limited to) maintaining accurate records, client visits, account reconciliations, benefit checks and holding responsibility for periodic updates to the Court of Protection.

Knowledge of appointeeship and deputyship
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Knowledge of financial systems and databases including Oracle, Integra and Mosaic
Ability to understand and interpret complex guidelines and legislation.
Good written and verbal communication
Is courteous, polite and professional
