Job Title: Electrical EngineerLocation: London, UKReports To: Facilities Manager / Maintenance ManagerDepartment: Facilities ManagementJob Purpose:The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for providing high-quality electrical maintenance and support across a range of facilities. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems and supporting the day-to-day maintenance of buildings and services. The Electrical Engineer will be expected to work within a team, ensuring all systems are compliant with health and safety regulations, and will be proactive in identifying and resolving electrical issues.Key Responsibilities:Perform regular electrical inspections, maintenance, and repairs across multiple sites.Ensure electrical installations comply with the latest regulations and safety standards (e.g., IET Wiring Regulations).Respond promptly to electrical faults and issues, ensuring minimal downtime.Conduct testing and inspection of electrical systems, including distribution panels, lighting, emergency power, and backup systems.Work closely with other departments to ensure that electrical systems support the operational needs of the facility.Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks as required.Support and manage contractors, ensuring their work is completed to the highest standard and within budget.Assist with the management of electrical service contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.Ensure all electrical works are carried out with full regard to health, safety, and environmental procedures.Maintain accurate records of electrical works, inspections, and repairs.Provide technical support to the team on electrical-related issues.Support energy-saving initiatives and sustainability projects.Requirements:Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer, ideally within Facilities Management.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and maintenance processes.Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation).Experience working with building management systems (BMS) and troubleshooting electrical faults.Understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance standards related to electrical works.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse team.Flexibility and availability to respond to urgent issues outside of standard working hours if required.Full UK driving license (preferable).Desirable:Experience with energy-efficient electrical systems and sustainability practices.Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, or other building systems is a plus.Familiarity with building services management software.Working Hours:Full-time, Monday to Friday.
