This role will be initially until August 2025, but there may be an opportunity to join the school on a permanent basis from September 2025 if you are successful in the role.This position presents an exceptional opportunity to join a forward-thinking school that is deeply committed to investing in your professional growth and development through comprehensive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training programs.What are the Key Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant?As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team, working under the expert guidance of the school's Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCo). Your primary responsibility will be to provide tailored, one-on-one support to pupils with diverse additional learning needs. You'll play a crucial role in helping these students fully engage with and benefit from mainstream lessons. For certain pupils, your duties may extend to delivering specialized interventions outside the regular classroom setting when deemed necessary for their educational progress.A significant aspect of your role will involve nurturing pupils' self-confidence and enhancing their social interaction skills. You'll be tasked with creating a supportive environment that encourages students to take pride in their individual and collective achievements. Your guidance will be instrumental in helping pupils participate more confidently in group activities, express their ideas effectively, and develop a respectful attitude towards the opinions and perspectives of their peers.Additionally, you'll serve as a vital communication link between the students and their class teacher. Requirements for Success in this Role:
Demonstrable experience in working with or volunteering alongside children or vulnerable adults in various capacitiesFor candidates without direct experience with children, the ability to articulate and showcase transferable skills from previous roles that are applicable to an educational settingAn Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check on the update service, or a willingness to undergo this essential safeguarding processA genuine, enthusiastic attitude towards inspiring and motivating children to reach their full potentialFlexibility and commitment to adhere to standard school hours, typically from 8:30am to 3:30pm, ensuring consistent support throughout the school day
