SEN Teaching Assistant in Wandsworth, LondonJob Description: We are seeking a passionate and conscientious SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at Chelsea Hall School. As an outstanding Independent Special School for students aged 4-11 with mild to moderate, complex learning needs, we are committed to providing the best educational support possible.Role Overview: Position: SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: Wandsworth, LondonSalary: £21,000 - £24,000 per yearStart Date: ASAP-August (Depending on vacancies)Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Responsibilities: Supporting the educational, social, and emotional development of students with special educational needs (SEN).Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.Providing one-to-one support for students with SEN to help them achieve their learning goals.Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student development. Qualifications and Skills: Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards one.Prior experience working with children with SEN is desirable.Understanding of the needs of students with SEN.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively as part of a team.Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.Additional training in areas such as Makaton, Team Teach, or Autism Awareness is preferred. Working Conditions: Full-Time, Monday to Friday.Work may involve physical activities such as assisting students with mobility or personal care.
