If so, we want to hear from you!About Us: Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a dedicated Pupil Referral Unit providing high-quality education for students who require additional support outside of a mainstream setting. They work with young people facing various barriers to learning, helping them re-engage with education and develop the skills, confidence, and resilience they need to succeed.The Role: We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join their dynamic team. As a Teaching Assistant at this PRU, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and nurturing learning environment, helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their individual goals.Key Responsibilities:
Supporting students in small groups or one-to-one, both in and outside the classroom.Assisting teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual needs.Providing pastoral care, helping students manage emotions and develop positive behaviour.Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).Encouraging and fostering a sense of self-worth and independence in students.Working collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational or youth work setting.Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships.A calm and proactive approach to managing challenging behaviour.A genuine passion for supporting students with diverse needs and abilities.Strong communication and teamwork skills.An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Desirable:
Experience working in a Pupil Referral Unit or similar setting.Knowledge of SEN, mental health, or trauma-informed practice.Relevant qualifications, such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
