Job Details Thank you for your interest in the position of Care Assistant within Accommodation with Care and Support and Housing Support. The service sits within the Complex and Critical Care Portfolio, which forms part of Fife Health and Social Care Partnership. The Partnership delivers a significant range of delegated services for a population of around 370,000 across the Kingdom of Fife. We are a forward-thinking service constantly seeking to deliver high quality, person-centred care and support to service users which is aligned to the National Care Standards, the Health and Social Care Partnerships Strategic Objectives, and the National Wellbeing Outcomes. Supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health disorders in their own homes, across Fife. Whilst this is an emotionally and physically demanding role, if you relish a challenge, have sound values, a caring attitude and have a passion to provide the best outcomes for vulnerable people, then this post will provide a great opportunity for you to realise your potential and influence the life of others. This role includes lone working, day shifts, late shifts, sleepovers and nightshifts and weekend working all applicants must be able to do all shift patterns. Support can be within a single tenancy, a group home or the Respite Unit; successful applicants will be expected to lone work and have the ability to travel throughout Fife. Salary Range: £24,890.91 to £27,087.17 pro-rata. This post is not suitable for blended workstyles. Enhancements of time and a third for unsocial hours. Sleepovers are paid at the SGLW currently £12.67 per hour. Auto enrolment onto the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). With 24 annual leave days rising to 2 days after 5 years. 8 Public Holiday days. Flexible Working policy. The Person Successful applicants will be provided with a comprehensive induction and all necessary training such as Moving and Handling, CALM, ESCAPES, Dysphagia etc. The Person must have: A caring attitude. The ability to manage and prioritise workload. Be able to work with minimal supervision. Good team working skills. Excellent literacy skills. Good IT skills. The ability to provide support to individuals with personal care needs. Be able to work with other professionals. Be able to undertake physical tasks e.g. being able to comfortably kneel on beds and floors and able to rise without difficulty. You are required to register with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up employment in this role and to complete the required Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) over the first registration period. Fife Council will pay your annual registration fee. Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme. As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration. If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months. More details are included in the role profile.
