Student Support Officer – Sixth Form Start Date: ASAP Salary: £33,366 - £37,035 ( actual pay £28,699 - £31,855) Salary Grade: NJC Grade 7 (Points 23-27) Contract Term: Permanent Contract Type: 37 hours per week - Term Time Only plus 5 inset days We are looking to appoint a dedicated, caring and professional Student Support Officer who will work within a wider sixth form team to provide the academic and pastoral support necessary to ensure all our post-16 students are happy and successful in their studies. Essential qualities/experience: Experience of working with young people An interest in learning as well as developing students as young adults An understanding of students’ needs and disciplines Knowledge of behaviour management and mentoring strategies Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with all members of the school community Ability to work in partnership with parents and carers to discuss student progress, welfare and behaviour Willingness to support the sixth form’s office hours programme for students failing to complete work set Willingness and ability to promote the highest expectations of all students Please see our website for further details.
