We are seeking a technically able and commercially aware case handler to join our Civil Litigation Division. You will predominantly deal with litigated claims with a wide range of commercial and residential landlord & tenant and leaseholder & freeholder disputes.You will be acting for businesses, individuals, and financial institutions. The clients that you will be acting for are either privately paying, or LEI funded. The role includes assisting the Partner in Charge of the Landlord and Tenant team and for the right candidate, may involve supervisory responsibilities. The work is challenging but rewarding and the team places a high value on mutual support and co-operation.This role is part office and part remote working. If you have any specific working pattern requirements and would like to discuss these we’d love to hear from you, please contact careers@lyonsdavidson.co.uk.Duties/Responsibilities:Alongside providing support to the case handlers in the department, you will be running a caseload of complex leaseholder/freeholder disputes, as well as commercial landlord & tenant dispute cases. You will also assist the Partner in Charge of the Landlord and Tenant team with supervisory duties and make an active contribution to business development and maintaining relationships with insurer clients when required.The ability to meet strict deadlines and to comply with service standards will be essential.Skills/Competencies and Experience required: Intellectual curiosity, commerciality and practicality Proven experience in dealing with landlord and tenant disputes Supervisory experience Ability to deal flexibly with a wide range of work types, work sources and clients Confidence to take responsibility for cases, relationships and strategy Team Player Excellent communication skills Capable of working with a case management systemEducation required:Candidates will need to demonstrate significant experience in dealing with landlord and tenant disputes. Qualification as a solicitor, FCILEx or Barrister would be beneficial but not essential.Please note this vacancy may close early if sufficient applications are received.
