Cover Supervisor Location: York, North Yorkshire Start Date: January 2024 Salary: £93 - £110 per dayGSL Education’s North Yorkshire branch is seeking for a Cover Supervisor to work at a Client Secondary School in York, starting in January 2024.Cover Supervisor Responsibilities: Provide short term cover for absent teaching staff, allocating pre-prepared work.Ensure that pupils are engaging in pre-planned work.Keep students on task and manage the behaviour of students during lessons.Manage pupil behaviour to create a safe and positive learning environment.Support students with any questions or problems during lessons.Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil attendance, engagement and completion of work tasks.The role does not involve planning, preparing, delivering lessons or assessing and reporting on the development progress and attainment of students. Senior Cover Supervisor Requirements: Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher or be a Graduate considering a career in education.Have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.Previous experience in an educational or training role (teaching experience desirable but not essential).Empathise with young people and have good interpersonal and communication skills.A passion for education and supporting young people.Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.
