Job Title: Specification Sales Director – Construction sector. Locations: UK Field Based Job type: Full-time Overview: Our client is the innovative market leader in the uniquely efficient full-service provision of patented high-quality Steel Reinforcement Solutions to major construction projects across the UK and Ireland. Through exceptional international growth and their inspiring company vision they currently have an exciting opportunity for a proven and ambitious Specification Sales Director in the U.K with a strong proven track record of new business development and project sales delivery across the relevant built environment or structural steel sector. The successful candidate will be predominantly field based with the flexibility to work remotely whilst regularly travelling to meet customers and colleagues on site as appropriate and will have frequent contact with the technical support department at HQ to ensure that all presentations are optimised to meet and exceed the requirements of each individual project. Job Purpose: To convert the market from traditional labour-intensive inefficient steel reinforcement processes to a fast, efficient, clean, waste-free, cost-saving automated and patented process. As Specification Sales Director, you will target the decision makers at senior management level in the key construction sectors the company has identified, and convert them at project design stage to the unique benefits of using the company’s technology - to save time, labour, waste, carbon, and ultimately achieve a significant project cost saving against traditional methods of construction. You will develop dynamic relationships with key clients at senior level, and potential clients, ensuring that awareness of our unique product benefits, and value, are known within the market. You will prepare project specific proposals and deliver value driven pitches to potential customers with full training and support from head-office. You will engage with team members by sharing product knowledge and market insights so that the collective culture of ‘winning’ is always supported and strengthened. The ideal candidate will have an engineering background, a minimum of 10 years specification sales experience at senior decision-making level, consistently achieving above target results focused on key target clientele such as Main Contractors, Consultant Engineers, Architects etc. He/she will have an existing contact book at senior level with the above groups. Key Responsibilities: Drive the conversion of the market from old /traditional to new technology solutions. Contribute to the development of a groupwide sales strategy based on your knowledge of the market. Develop plans for achieving market share targets within assigned target customer base. Develop and agree tactical sales plans for each product stream targeted. Work to meet assigned annual sales targets in collaboration with Management. Support delivery of the sales strategy by identifying and actioning opportunities and leads to ensure constant awareness and traction of our products and services. Provide regular reports with accurate and insightful updates on progress, sales and customer/market insights. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with strategic customers through partnering with them to better understand their business objectives and needs. Monitor Industry-specific trends and landscapes sharing findings and highlighting opportunities amongst team and management. Effectively communicate the Company value proposition through leading presentations, CPDs and value engineering proposals. Develop and maintain a sales management and reporting framework ensuring clarity and transparency with the Management team.Key Candidate Experience & Competencies: A minimum of 10 years relevant senior specification sales experience. Built environment/Construction industry experience essential. Relevant Degree in an Engineering discipline essential. Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills. Delivering compelling CPDs regularly to key stakeholders such as Architects, Engineers and Main Contractors/Developers is a critical requirement. First-class commercial acumen, negotiation, and customer-first mindset. Dynamic self-starter with a resilient target delivery mindset. Excellent relationship management and collaboration skills and a real team-first approach. Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong strategic planning and organizational skills. Proficient IT applications and reporting expertise. Compensation & Benefits: Competitive Salary. Incentivized On Target Commission Quarterly.
