Our UK based client is seeking a Financial Controller to lead their accounting team. You can be based in any country with a maximum 1 hour time difference to the UK, 2 hour flight time and you must be fluent in English. Reporting to the Finance Director, and working as part of the Senior Management team, you will be a lead Finance professional with the assistance of a Junior Accountant and Accounts Payable/Receivable assistant. Responsibilities: Preparation of timely, accurate monthly management accounts including variance analysis; supporting commentary to aid decision making. Preparation / review of Balance Sheet reconciliations. Budgeting / forecasting, cashflow, stock accounting, revenue and inventory. VAT returns and reporting. Maintenance of Fixed Asset register and Depreciation. Board Pack preparation. Finance business partnering key stakeholders at all levels. Contribute to the annual statutory accounting and act as the primary contact for the annual audit. Oversee and manage Assistant Accounts Assistant and Purchase Ledger Assistant in a 'hands on' manner, overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger, Bank Rec and assisting where required. Complete process, reporting and system improvement as and where required. Keep under review and maintain financial systems to ensure compliance with law and financial requirements. Review and advance financial systems that both retain financial rigour, and support the company team in realising strategic objectives Skills and Experience: At least 3 years work experience as a qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA). Hands on approach, well organised with attention to detail. Strong analytical skills. Excellent computer skills and an advanced Excel user. Experience of working within an SME environment.
