Job Title: Estimator - Structural Steel Location: Home /office - sites as and when required Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum, DOE + expenses Role Overview We are looking for an accomplished Estimator - This key role demands expertise in structural steel and a solid track record of managing complex estimates. Ideal candidates will be analytical leaders with strong negotiation skills, capable of ensuring our bids are competitive and successful. Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver precise cost estimates for structural steel projects, encompassing design, fabrication, erection, and associated services. Interpret project requirements, specifications, and drawings to create accurate, competitive bids. Guide and mentor the estimating team to uphold accuracy and high standards. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to offer cost-effective, value-engineering solutions. Manage tender processes, oversee bid submissions, and present to clients. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure optimal pricing and terms. Track and adjust estimates to align with project budgets over the lifecycle. Keep abreast of industry trends, materials, and innovations to enhance market competitiveness. Qualifications and Experience Extensive estimating experience in structural steel or construction. Strong understanding of structural steelwork, including design, fabrication, and erection. Demonstrated leadership with team management experience. Proficient in estimating software and MS Office Suite. Analytical, detail-oriented, and strong in negotiations. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
