About Bloomsbury Football Foundation Young people in London are facing a growing mental and physical health crisis, made worse by the pandemic, social media and the cost of living crisis. These challenges disproportionately affect young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. At Bloomsbury Football Foundation, we believe in the transformative power of football to help address all these challenges. But the benefits of regular access to the beautiful game are not open to all and impossibly expensive for many families. Our financial assistance model, coupled with our approach of mapping our service delivery around areas of highest Income Deprivation Affecting Children, is already making regular football accessible for over 5,000 children and young people each week. In the context of an increasingly segregated society, we also bring together children from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities and nationalities – facilitating friendships across these societal divides. We are on a mission to expand provision to reach 20,000 young people a week by 2028, ensuring access to all, regardless of ability to pay or play. This includes a commitment to reach 10,000 girls weekly, as well as significantly expand our Refugee & Asylum Seeker and Disability Football programmes. About the role We’ve come a long way in a short period but are determined to reach as many young people as possible who currently have the least access to regular football. We have punched above our weight – growing fundraising income from c£800,000, to c£2.5m over the last three years. We’re looking to continue and accelerate this trajectory, growing fundraised income to c.£8m by 2028. Our new Senior Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships will play a key role in enabling this growth. About you We’re looking for somebody who believes it is possible for Bloomsbury Football Foundation’s fundraising team to be the most effective in the country and is energised by that challenge. You will work very closely with Director of Fundraising and CEO to exponentially grow our Major Donor and Corporate income streams. Experience of both areas is desirable but experience of just one of these areas and confidence to back yourself to successfully oversee the other would be great too. Event management experience is also a plus. We are looking for somebody who has a very high ceiling. Relevant successful experience is required, this is a senior role with significant responsibility, but we’ll prioritise mindset, raw smarts and a winning personality over everything. You will be a “deal junkie” with some big wins to your name, who enjoys networking and making things happen. This will be matched by an affable and professional demeanour. You will not be fazed by meeting very senior and successful individuals and will thrive on taking on major responsibility.
