Job Description Job Title: Junior Design EngineerLocation: Peterborough, UKSalary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role:We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Peterborough. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or an early-career engineer to develop your skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment. You will be working closely with experienced engineers on innovative design projects, contributing to the development of cutting-edge solutions across various industries. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the design, development, and testing of mechanical and electrical components and systems. Work with 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to create detailed design drawings and models. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop prototypes and implement design changes. Support project management by preparing documentation and reports. Participate in design reviews and provide input to improve product quality and functionality. Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and company quality requirements. Requirements: A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Design Engineering (or similar discipline). Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent). Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. An eagerness to learn and grow within the role, taking on new challenges. Desirable: Some experience (internship or placement) in a design or engineering role. Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
