Night Shift HGV Technician/Supervisor required in Didcot.Starting salary up to £22.50 per hour plus £150 monthly shift allowance.6:00pm-6:00am on a 4 on/4 off shift pattern. Fantastic career prospects with a multi-award winning dealer group operating for over 50+ years.Our client, a franchise approved commercial vehicle dealer group with multiple sites nationwide, are currently looking to hire a HGV Technician/Supervisor to work the night shift at their Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU) in Didcot. Reporting to the VMU Manager and working as part of a team, your key objectives will include: Responsible for the supervision of the Workshop Technicians and liaising on a day to day basis with the VMU Manager.Supervising, developing and training the workshop team to achieve the highest possible levels of performance.Supervising the flow of work for the team into the workshop, allocating work as required and maximising the use of available resources. Ensure repair work is completed to schedule.Ensure requested work is completed on time and to the expected standards.Performing major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles.Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services such as tyre rotation and oil changes.Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness from oil spills and dust.Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles.Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired or handled.Providing repair services to clients on the road in case of emergencies.Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.Providing in-house training to recruits and trainees.To be eligible for this HGV role, you will be qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair with several years' experience beyond your qualification alongside team supervisory experience with excellent communication skills and be IT literate and confident using technology. Overall, you will need to be a committed individual and a good team player. You must be able to produce a high quality of work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. Applicants with an active HGV driving licence would be highly advantageous however this is non-essential. What's in it for you?
